Job summary

Interpath Laboratory in Omaha, NE is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support diagnostic testing through accurate specimen processing and hands-on laboratory support in a fast-paced environment.

The part-time schedule includes weekday evenings with benefits like 401(k), paid time off, and in-house testing. You will work alongside MLSs and MLTs, gaining practical lab experience and contributing to patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous specimen processing or laboratory experience preferred but not required.
• Must be dependable, detail-oriented and accurate.
• Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong team player who collaborates well.
• Willingness to learn new technology and lab processes.
• Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Assist MLSs and MLTs with specimen processing and preparatory procedures.
• Operate automated instruments and electronic systems, with basic troubleshooting.
• Participate in proficiency testing and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain documentation, answer phones professionally, protect patient confidentiality.
• Follow lab safety and infection control procedures.
• Perform additional duties as needed to gain experience and skills.
