Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a qualified MLS to perform diagnostic testing and support physicians in patient care on the Third Shift in Omaha. This role requires meticulous testing and adherence to high laboratory standards.

The ideal candidate holds MLS certification (ASCP/AMT or equivalent) with related degrees, and demonstrates teamwork, communication, and flexibility. Educational support and career advancement are available through the employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field with required science courses for MLS certification.
• Certified medical laboratory scientist by ASCP, AMT or equivalent within 12 months of eligibility/graduation.
• Equivalent certifications include MT (ASCP) or CLS (NCA) before 2004 or international MLS(ASCPi).
• Certifications begun after Jan 1, 2004 must maintain certification via ASCPCM.
• Strong communication, initiative, teamwork and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing to assist physicians and other healthcare professionals in screening, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.
• Use comprehensive knowledge to accurately perform and evaluate highly complex laboratory testing efficiently.
• Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment and provide excellent customer service.
