Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II to support specialists in the hospital laboratory. You will receive specimens, perform accessioning, data entry, and transport specimens to appropriate departments, while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

The role requires typing and 10-key skills, a high school diploma, and preferred MLT certification. A collaborative team environment with opportunities for growth and education is provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; CAP surveyors may require a diploma.
• Two years of college science courses preferred.
• Current National certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and accession patient specimens accurately and safely.
• Enter patient data and test orders into the computer system.
• Communicate specimen requirements to hospital/clinic staff and coordinate with teams.
• Assist in training new staff and support education of students.
