Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeks a compassionate Mental Health Worker II for the Evening Shift to provide direct care, assist in rehabilitation activities, and help maintain a safe clinical environment. This position includes mandatory overtime and a 2:45pm–11:00pm schedule. Experience in mental health settings and the ability to work in a dynamic environment are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of full-time or equivalent part-time direct care experience with mental illness or disability.
• Associate’s degree or higher may substitute for required experience.
• CPR, First Aid, and MAP certifications may be required/maintained.
• Driver’s license may be required depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Interview, orient, and document admission information.
• Support rehabilitative and recreational programs for clients.
• Maintain safe, therapeutic environment per hospital policy.
• Manage crises using hospital procedures for least-restrictive care.
• Pursue ongoing staff development to enhance competency.
• Protect client privacy and dignity in a clean, safe setting.
