Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeks a Seasonal Mental Health Worker I for 2nd shift at Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital. This temporary role supports direct care, ADL tasks, and participation in treatment plans, with mandatory overtime and no benefits.

The position runs November to January/February, with 2nd shift hours 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM and weekend availability required. Strong teamwork and safety-focused approach are essential in an inpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care and/or assists in activities of daily living (ADL) in an inpatient setting.
• Takes and reports vital signs as instructed.
• Accompanies persons served to appointments and treatment areas as needed.
• Monitors safety through checks and observation per policy.
• Contributes to Treatment and Recovery Plan discussions with the team.
• Communicates observations to supervisors and treatment staff.
• Encourages participation in leisure activities to boost socialization.
• Maintains a safe therapeutic environment through observation and communication.
• Reviews and updates Individual Safety Plans with the team.
• Performs admission interviews and documents priority information for care.
