Job summary

Hospital for Behavioral Medicine in Worcester, MA is seeking a Mental Health Technician (MHT) for evening shifts. The role offers earnings between $21.00 and $24.00 per hour, with shift differentials and both full-time and part-time options.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or CNA, plus psychiatric care experience and CPR/CPI readiness. Join a 120-bed inpatient facility focused on compassionate, comprehensive mental health care in partnership with UMass Memorial Health Care.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent preferred, or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline.
• One year of related experience with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques preferred.
• CPR certification and CPI training within 30 days of employment, prior to assisting with restraining procedures.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs.
• Observe and document changes in a patient's appearance, behavior or ability to work toward treatment plan goals.
• Communicate changes in patient's condition to the charge nurse.
• Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient.
• Ensure awareness of patient's individualized plan of care including goals and interventions.
• Provide information to the charge nurse to assist in developing and revising the treatment plan.
• Document the treatment plan, nursing interventions and patient response to interventions.
• Ensure interventions are based on the patient's plan of care.
