Job summary

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeks a skilled Registered Nurse III for the Evening shift at the Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center. This role supports inpatient psychiatric care, including assessments, interventions, and coordination of services to promote recovery and safety.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, administering medications, and providing psychosocial support, with mandatory overtime and a 40-hour week on unit 4 east, 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Massachusetts Registered Nurse license.
• Experience in psychiatric or inpatient setting preferred.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care following standards to maintain quality care.
• Conduct nursing assessments and develop interventions.
• Perform charge nurse duties as needed for priority patient care.
• Supervise junior staff, assign tasks, and evaluate performance.
• Administer medications and document accurately.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges per policy.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes promptly.
• Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
