Job summary

Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the 3pm to 11:30pm shift to support the treatment team and provide continuous patient care under RN supervision. You will monitor vital signs, observe changes, assist with daily living activities, and document clearly to aid treatment planning.

A Bachelor’s in a human services field or related experience is required, with two years in direct care preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field such as psychology, sociology, counseling, or related area.
• OR a High school diploma or GED with at least two years in a Human Services field involving direct contact with clients.

Responsibilities

• Completes and records Vital Signs according to policy.
• Monitors patient condition, observes changes, and documents treatment progress.
• Communicates changes to the Charge Nurse to support care planning.
• Assists patients with daily living activities and discharge processes.
• Applies crisis intervention and complies with seclusion/restraint documentation.
• Performs problem solving using available resources and documents findings clearly.
• Demonstrates knowledge of developmental needs of patients across age groups.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Hospital Administration.
