Qualifications

• Completion of MT or MLT program with a Bachelor's or Associate's degree.
• ASCP certification or registry eligible required.

Responsibilities

• Pre-analytical specimen processing including specimen requirements, order entry, accessioning and distributions.
• Analytic testing and verification of results with careful review of priority, completeness and critical values.
• Quality control testing and ensuring results meet QC criteria.
• Maintains instrument performance and logs issues with supervisor.
• Recognizes STAT priorities and adheres to turnaround times.
• Reviews results for critical values and ensures proper reporting to clinicians.
• Participation in proficiency testing and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensures safety: use of PPE, handling of hazardous materials, and proper waste disposal.
