Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform a range of diagnostic tests under supervision, potentially across Hematology, Chemistry, Immunology or Microbiology. The role emphasizes accuracy, instrumentation maintenance, and quality control within a 40-hour per week schedule.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor's in Medical Technology (or equivalent), with ASCP MT certification preferred and at least three years of related experience; LIS familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.
• ASCP MT certification is preferred.
• Minimum of three years of related laboratory experience required.
• Experience with LIS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of laboratory tests and reports data for diagnosis and treatment.
• Performs testing with accuracy following Hematology II and Chemistry sections procedures.
• Maintains instrumentation, logs, and quality control procedures.
• Ensures proper test results and follows up on questionable results.
• Operates and maintains AU680, AU480, Access2, and other chemistry instruments as assigned.
• May work across major lab areas or specialize in one area such as Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology or Microbiology.
