Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX is seeking a Tech/MLT to perform waived and non-waived complexity analysis of patient specimens under supervision of the Technical Coordinator. The role supports the Department of Clinical Laboratory Services and contributes to service excellence and quality, following CAP, CLIA, JCAHO standards.
Ideal candidates have an associate degree in medical technology or related science, one year experience preferred, and relevant certifications
Qualifications
- Associate degree in medical technology, biology, chemistry, or related science preferred.
- One year experience preferred.
- Certifications: ASCP, AMT, and/or NCA preferred or eligible.
- Technicians newly certified as of 2004 must participate in Certification Maintenance Program every 3 years.
Responsabilités
- Performs waived and non-waived complexity analysis of patient specimens.
- Ensures compliance with CAP, CLIA ’88, JCAHO, AABB, and organizational policies.
- Monitors quality control data and instrument maintenance.
- Participates in maintenance and safety programs.
- Contributes to performance improvement initiatives within responsibility areas.
