Job summary

Premise Health Inc. seeks a Full Time Medical Assistant to join our Health Center in Lafayette, IN.

The role provides care to client employees, with 2nd shift options (4:30pm–1:00am or 5:30pm–2:00am) and a strong emphasis on patient assessment and administrative duties. The successful candidate will interview patients, record vital signs, prepare treatment spaces, administer injections, perform laboratory tests and EKGs, while maintaining medical records and supporting front-desk operations.

Qualifications

• National certification in Medical Assisting from Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed.
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations
• Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned
