Job summary

The Vane Brothers Company in Baltimore, MD seeks an experienced Evening Logistics Coordinator I to ensure safe, efficient movement of tugboats and barges delivering petroleum products across regional routes. The role coordinates vessel schedules, communicates with vessel crews, customers, and trade partners, and supports maintenance coordination.

Primarily evenings (1530–0000) with backup duties for the Evening Logistics Coordinator II; strong software use and customer service skills are

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
• 1–2 years of logistics experience preferred.
• Operational experience in the Maritime Industry strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Products (Word, Excel, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate schedules for vessel movements across ports.
• Actively monitor and update our proprietary logistics software.
• Communicate with vessel agents on schedules and details.
• Coordinate loadings and deliveries with cargo terminals.
• Communicate with trade partners to advise on vessel operations.
• Coordinate vessel movements with Operations/Engineering teams for maintenance and inspections.
• Maintain regular schedule and provide backup coverage for Evening Logistics Coordinator II when needed.
• Support the chartering department with customer relations and marketing initiatives.
