Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of a course of study in a registered School of Practical Nursing approved by the NY State Education Department.
• Possession of a current NYS LPN license and registration at time of appointment; or possession of a GPN permit with license within one year.
• A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required for ECMCC positions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and uses nursing equipment to care for patients.
• Administers and documents medications.
• Performs treatments and procedures as prescribed; records vital signs and patient weights.
• Provides patient and family health education as directed by care plans.
• Performs charge duties when needed and ensures patient safety and comfort.
• Participates in in-service education and collaborates with nursing staff.
