Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time evening schedule. The Charge Nurse will perform assessments, administer medications, and supervise aides, ensuring compliant, high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Valid LPN license in Iowa in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• State-approved LPN Supervisory Course or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations.
• Strong empathy, respect, patience and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing assessments of residents' clinical status and update care plans with the team.
• Provide and supervise direct nursing care including wound care and IV therapy as allowed.
• Administer medications and treatments with accurate documentation.
• Serve as clinical leader and coordinate resident care across the unit.
• Supervise CNAs and other staff to ensure quality care and teamwork.
• Ensure adherence to regulations, infection prevention, and facility policies.
• Educate and support residents and families about care plans and goals.
