Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials is seeking an Equipment Operator in Georgia to safely operate heavy equipment in a mining quarry, including water trucks, haul trucks, dozers, loaders and excavators. This role runs 4:00 pm–2:00 am, with weekends and overtime as needed.

Ideal candidates are safety-conscious, dependable and motivated, with high school or equivalent, and prior experience operating mobile and processing plant equipment. Training and safety are emphasized within a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
• Have experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment, construction equipment and/or equipment used processing plants
• Have experience in operation and maintenance of off-road vehicles and heavy equipment (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of off-road vehicles and heavy equipment within company guidelines and safety standards
• Complete daily pre and post inspections of working areas and ensure adequate berms and roadways
• Perform pre-shift safety inspections on equipment and report needed repairs
• Ensure safe operations around conveyors, surge piles and crushers
• Perform daily preventative maintenance and check for leaks or worn parts
• Maintain safe traffic flow throughout the site
• Assist in training of co-workers as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
