Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. seeks an Equipment Operator to safely run haul trucks, water trucks and loaders in a mining/construction setting. You will move raw materials from pit to crusher and put finished products into designated stockpiles, while maintaining dust control and housekeeping.

The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance (MSHA), and teamwork, with opportunities to assist in plant operations and maintenance tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience.
• Technical training and vocational certification preferred.
• No experience required; 6 months–1 year of heavy equipment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate entry-to-mid-level mobile equipment including haul trucks, water trucks and loaders.
• Transport materials from the extraction pit to the primary crusher and move finished products to stockpiles.
• Maintain stockpile integrity and prevent material contamination.
• Conduct daily inspections of brakes, steering, fluids, tires and gauges to identify hazards.
• Complete daily production logs and safety forms.
