Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely operate mobile heavy equipment in extraction, transport, and processing of aggregates. You will move materials from pit to plant, manage stockpiles, and support maintenance and safety initiatives on site.

The role emphasizes a safety-first mindset, routine inspections, and adherence to MSHA regulations, with additional duties including manual labor and plant housekeeping as needed. Local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED; relevant experience accepted.
• Technical training or vocational certification preferred.
• No experience required; 6 months to 1 year of heavy equipment operation in mining, quarry, or construction preferred.
• Strong safety mindset and MSHA knowledge are required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate entry- to mid-level mobile equipment (Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Front-End Loaders).
• Transport and move materials from pit to crusher and plant to stockpiles.
• Maintain stockpile integrity to prevent contamination.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and routine PM tasks.
• Report equipment malfunctions and support mechanics as needed.
• Complete daily production logs and safety forms.
