Job summary

Emish Market in Fife, WA, is seeking a dependable cook to join our kitchen team and prepare fresh hot dishes daily for our café and deli. You will operate grills, fryers, ovens and other equipment safely, maintain station cleanliness, follow food safety standards, and collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality meals during busy service periods.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working Wed-Sun 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a line cook or similar role in a restaurant or kitchen.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Knowledge of kitchen safety, sanitation, and food handling standards.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook hot food items according to recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Operate grills, fryers, ovens, flat tops, and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Set up and stock cooking stations with ingredients and supplies before and during service.
• Ensure all food is cooked, plated, and served in a timely manner.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and consistency throughout each shift.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations and equipment.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Assist with prep work, inventory rotation, and closing duties as needed.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
