Job summary

Armor Health in Scranton, PA is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our correctional health team. You will provide holistic nursing care, support physicians, and coordinate patient care in a secure setting.

Qualifications

• Active state LPN license is required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance including background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist healthcare providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, tests and routine procedures.
• Obtain patient health history, vital signs, and collect specimens; administer TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and ensure results are delivered to the responsible physician or nurse.
• Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside providers; administer medications; document all patient contacts in the EMR.
• Review patient charts and report observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in conditions.
• Ensure proper documentation and adherence to orders and policies throughout patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.
• Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, vital signs and administers TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and ensures the results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
• Ensure patient is receiving proper care for injury or condition.
• Review patient chart; records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient's conditions.
• Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside health care providers; administer medications; implement healthcare practitioners' orders; and document all patient contacts using the POMR format.

Qualifications
