Job summary

Knox Community Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for a full-time evening shift (2pm to 10:30pm). The role includes collecting and processing specimens, registering patient orders, and performing phlebotomy with possible Point of Care testing. CPR is required within 4 months of hire and must be maintained.

Responsibilities include supporting laboratory operations, maintaining supplies, and handling related clerical tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate from an approved Phlebotomy School/Program.
• Experience in phlebotomy preferred.
• CPR certification required within 4 months of employment and must be current at all times thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Collects, accession, requisitions and processes specimens for testing.
• Registers patient orders.
• Performs therapeutic phlebotomies.
• Performs general office/clerical responsibilities and phlebotomy.
• Maintain inventory supply.
• Option to perform Point of Care tests.
