Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in a relevant science preferred.
• MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist) (ASCP) or ASCP equivalent certification required within 1 year from date of hire.
• Individual ASCP certifications in Chemistry or Hematology or Microbiology or Blood Bank meet requirements.

Responsibilities

• Test Performance: Performs accurate testing of specimens per established protocol and procedures.
• Test Result Reporting: Reports results in a timely manner and documents notification of critical values as required.
• Quality control: Performs QC testing and documents results; notifies supervisor of discrepant QC results.
• Maintenance and calibration: Performs routine maintenance and calibration of instruments as scheduled.
• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoots instruments and reagents; notifies supervisor when unresolved.
