Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform high, moderate, and waived testing in a fast-paced clinical laboratory. You will operate advanced instrumentation, interpret results, and support physicians in result interpretation.

The ideal candidate will meet CLIA ’88 requirements for high complexity testing, hold a Bachelor's in Medical Technology, and have experience with Laboratory Information Systems. Onsite schedule with occasional shifts and strong team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for high complexity testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related science field from an accredited institution; or must meet CLIA grandfathered medical technologist regulations.
• Certification by a recognized certifying agency preferred (ASCP, ASMT, NCA, etc). Certifications may be required in specialized areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform high, moderate, or waived laboratory testing per SOPs.
• Identify and correct instrument malfunctions; document troubleshooting activities.
• Confirms, verifies and reports test results independently; monitor for reasonableness and critical values.
• Correlate and interpret data generated from testing.
• Assist physicians in interpretation of test results.
• Conduct established quality control and performance improvement activities.
• Provide clinical orientation and training to new staff or students.
• Prepare and collect specimens (blood, urine, feces or other body fluids) for analysis.
• Participate in Continuous System Improvement (CSI) and continuing education.
• Perform instrument and assay validations.
• Perform and sign off on technical competencies.
• Perform competency for moderate and high complexity testing as delegated.
