Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine is seeking a qualified medical laboratory technologist to perform high, moderate, and waived testing in a comprehensive laboratory setting. The role requires independent judgment, effective communication with physicians and staff, and adherence to established SOPs.

The candidate will handle specimen preparation, instrument troubleshooting, and result verification, while contributing to quality control and ongoing education of the team.

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for high complexity testing.
• Associate's degree in MLT from an accredited program is required.
• Certification by a recognized certifying agency (ASCP, ASMT, NCA, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs high, moderate, or waived laboratory testing with independence.
• Recognizes and corrects instrument malfunctions and records troubleshooting.
• Confirms, verifies, and reports test results; monitors for reasonableness and critical values.
• Interprets data, assists physicians with result interpretation.
• Conducts quality control and continuous improvement activities.
• Provides orientation/training to new staff/students.
• Prepares/collects specimens for analysis; participates in CSI program.
