Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA seeks a Laboratory Support Technician to provide specimen procurement, processing, and related laboratory services within Lab Support Services. You will train junior technicians and ensure accurate communication of test information to users of the Laboratory Services.

The role emphasizes quality customer service and adherence to department procedures. Shift is 1:00 pm–9:30 pm with weekend/holiday rotation; a High School Diploma and preferred phlebotomy

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience in phlebotomy, EKG, or specimen processing preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification (ASCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Specimen processing and verification according to lab policies.
• Assist in training new lab support technicians.
• Communicate effectively with staff and patients; document issues and follow up.
• Operate Sunquest LIS for order entry, inquiry, and registration functions.
• Perform other duties as needed and support quality improvement initiatives.
