Job summary

HCA Florida Westside Hospital is seeking a Hospital Lab Section Coordinator to lead and improve patient testing services in the evening shift. You will oversee stat procedures, quality control, and staff training while ensuring regulatory standards are met.

The role requires an associate degree in science, a Florida technologist license or the ability to obtain one, and several years of MT experience; ASCP certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2-year associate degree in science is required.
• 4-year bachelor’s in medical technology is preferred.
• Florida technologist license or ability to obtain during interview.
• ASCP or similar certification is helpful.
• 3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Perform stat procedures and analyze testing samples.
• Perform quality control procedures per protocol and document results.
• Assist supervisor in developing talent to meet regulatory requirements.
• Assist in training department personnel.
• Prioritize and delegate testing based on patient data and staff competence.
• Provide feedback to Laboratory Manager on operations.
• Demonstrate leadership and build rapport to deliver department services.
