Job summary

Heritage Valley Health System (AHN) Laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Processing Technician II to perform EKGs and specimen collection within the employee’s training scope. Responsibilities include accessioning, centrifuging, aliquoting, and packing specimens for courier pickup, plus assisting with patient registration and lab report distribution.

The role requires a four-year high school graduate or GED with phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Training and ACT 169 clearance.

Qualifications

• Four year high school graduate or GED equivalent with phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Training and ACT 169 clearance.
• Successful completion of Acts 73 and/or 169 clearances within 90 days of commencing employment, if applicable.
• Preferred: ASCP certification in phlebotomy.

Responsibilities

• Performs EKGs and collects specimens within scope of training.
• Prepares specimen types: accessioning, centrifuging, aliquoting and packing for courier pickup.
• Assists with patient registration, laboratory report distribution and clerical duties.
• Manages and troubleshoots pre-analytical automation as assigned.
• Promotes and maintains a professional manner in all situations.
