Job summary

Heritage Valley Sewickley is seeking a Laboratory Processing Technician II to perform EKGs, collect specimens, and prepare all specimen types within the employee’s scope of training. The role includes accessioning, centrifuging, aliquoting, and packing for courier pickup.

You will assist with patient registration and laboratory report distribution, provide training as needed, and help maintain a professional, courteous environment while supporting pre-analytical automation and clerical duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with phlebotomy or Medical Assistant training.
• ACT 169 clearance must be completed within 90 days of starting (if applicable).

Work Hours: Primarily evening shift 1230p-9p, rotating weekends, and holidays.

The Laboratory Processing Technician II is responsible for the performance of EKGs, collection of specimens within the employee’s scope of training including legal specimen collection, and preparation of all specimen types. Includes specimen accessioning, centrifuging, aliquoting and packing for courier pickup. Assists with patient registration, laboratory report distribution and other clerical duties. Mans and troubleshoots the pre-analytical automation as assigned. Provides training and/or orientation for internal employees and external customers. Promotes and maintains a professional manner in all situations.

Requirements

Four year high school graduate or GED equivalent with phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Training and ACT 169 clearance.

Successful completion of Acts 73 and/or 169 clearances within 90 days of commencing employment, if applicable.
