Job summary

Heritage Valley Health System is seeking a Laboratory Processing Technician II in the Laboratory department. Primarily evening shift 12:30pm-9pm with rotating weekends and holidays.

Duties include performing EKGs, collecting specimens within training scope, and preparing all specimen types for processing. Responsibilities include specimen accessioning, centrifuging, aliquoting and packing for courier pickup, assisting with patient registration and report distribution, and supporting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with phlebotomy or Medical Assistant training.
• Must obtain ACT 169 clearance within 90 days of starting (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Perform EKGs, collect specimens within scope of training, and prepare all specimen types.
• Include specimen accessioning, centrifuging, aliquoting and packing for courier pickup.
• Assist with patient registration, laboratory report distribution and other clerical duties.
• Mans and troubleshoots the pre-analytical automation as assigned.
• Provide training and orientation for internal staff and external customers.
