Job summary

Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto seeks a Laboratory Pre-Analytic Services technician for the Evening 8-hour shift. Under supervision, you accession patient specimens, receive and process samples, answer phones, print and distribute reports, and assist phlebotomy and training as needed.

Responsibilities include identifying patients, timely specimen processing, STAT handling, and coordination with physicians and nursing staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of related laboratory experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Accession patient specimens into the laboratory system accurately.
• Distribute processed samples to appropriate lab areas and handle STAT requests.
• Answer phones and respond to inquiries regarding testing status and results.
• Assist with media preparation, reagent preparation, and glassware preparation as needed.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection following safety protocols.
