Job summary

Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto is seeking a Laboratory Phlebotomy Technician in the Pre-Analytic Services area. Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Analytic Supervisor, you accession, receive and process specimens, answer phones, and distribute reports while ensuring sample integrity.

You will rotate through various lab sections, perform venipunctures, maintain logs, stock supplies, and assist with training new staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of related work experience preferred.
• CPT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accession patient information accurately into the Laboratory computer system.
• Distribute samples and STAT requests promptly to the appropriate areas.
• Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and relay results as needed.
• Assist with media, reagents, and glassware preparation as requested.
• Perform venipuncture and specimen processing following lab policies.
