Job summary

The University of Rochester’s Imaging Sciences-General X-Ray team in Rochester, NY is seeking a qualified Radiologic Technologist to perform high-quality X-ray exams in an inpatient setting at 601 Elmwood Ave. You will verify orders, maintain safety protocols, and assist radiologists with image acquisition.

The role is full-time, 40 hours per week with evening shifts (Sunday-Thursday). Required: formal radiologic technology training and NYS CRT licensure, ARRT certification with CE credits, and

Qualifications

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Current NYS CRT licensure upon hire.
• ARRT certification with CE credits upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares room and patient per order.
• Properly sets up equipment, positions patients, and determines proper exposure factors to produce a high-quality image.
• Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider.
• Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure.
• Maintains appropriate supplies in the X-ray rooms.
• Produces a diagnostic, high quality image for interpretation by the Radiologist.
• Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices such as ARJO lift, transfer boards, hover mats.
• Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and ensuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
• Completes and bills for studies accurately.
• May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities.

Education
