Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support the inpatient central pharmacy at Vanderbilt University Hospital. This role involves assisting pharmacists with preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications, with an emphasis on customer service and inventory control.

Training is provided for sterile compounding; prior sterile experience is not required. Day shifts with 8- or 10-hour options, weekend rotations, and holiday coverage are included to support

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician through either PTCB or NHA.
• Sterile compounding experience is not required; training is provided.
• Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program with pharmacy emphasis (Texas TN licensure not applicable).

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and/or distribution of medications.
• Applies departmental processes regarding inventory control.
• Performs activities as directed by pharmacists and/or pharmacy managers in accordance with laws and hospital policies.
• Delivers outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
• Operates computer systems and utilizes technology.
