Job summary

UPS is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Electrician in Oklahoma City, OK to support the package sorting system. The role involves maintenance on conveyors, motors, belts, and electrical gear, with a 1pm–10pm schedule and Monday–Friday workdays.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, plus preventive maintenance. Strong problem-solving and safe-tool use are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in the safe use of common shop tools and equipment.
• Experience in performing maintenance on conveyor belts is an asset.
• Knowledge of electrical and building schematics is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
• Troubleshooting, adjusting and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment such as batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers and PLC.
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing pneumatic equipment such as flow splitters, diverters, air compressors, lubricators, hoses, and coils.
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
• Welding equipment such as handrails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts, and grating.
• Performing preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment.
