Job summary

Valley Health System in Ridgewood is seeking a Patient Access Center assistant to support inpatient, outpatient, and other departments. Responsibilities include reception, pre-registration, registration, and admitting, with cash collection and patient education as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma (associate degree preferred) and healthcare experience; CHAA certification is preferred. Strong English communication and typing skills are essential; 50–60 wpm minimum.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred; Registration training program completed; CHAA certification preferred.
• Healthcare related experience; computer experience; medical terminology preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong spelling/grammar; ability to manage multiple tasks and read/write English.

Responsibilities

• Provide reception, pre-registration, registration, and admitting duties across departments.
• Assist with cash collection and patient/department support.
• Manage materials/inventory and provide patient education; perform unit-specific tasks as required.
