Job summary

Parkridge Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support pharmacists in daily department workflows, including IV admixtures and sterile compounding. The role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service to internal and external customers.

You will work in a patient-focused environment, collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to ensure safe medication handling, inventory management, and adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications

• TN State Pharmacy Tech license is required.
• PTCB Certification is required.
• Hospital experience is required.
• Graduate of ASHP (CSPT) accredited Pharmacy Tech Program, Associates degree or 2 years of equivalent experience.
• Completion of IV Admixture Training Program with successful completion of quality controls.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of hospital policies and regulations and dispense accordingly.
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors, and complaints.
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
• Monitor, record, and communicate using computerized documentation systems.
• Follow Standard Precautions using PPE as required.
• Perform duties including buyer, narcotics, and IV room responsibilities.
• Accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations on injectable medications.
• Prepare IV admixtures and all IV batch medications.
• Maintain biosafety cabinets and laminar airflow workbenches.
• Complete sterile compounding logs and manage variances.
• Perform cleaning procedures for work surfaces and IV rooms.
• Manage inventory, order meds/supplies based on patient needs, recall/expired meds.

TN State Pharmacy Tech license

PTCB Certification

Hospital experience

ASHP CSPT accredited Pharmacy Tech Program (Associates or 2 years exp)
