Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support day-to-day operations in a complex medical environment. Under the direction of a Pharmacist, you will assist with unit dose dispensing, sterile compounding, and medication distribution while ensuring accuracy and safety.

You will collaborate with care teams, maintain regulatory compliance, participate in process improvements, and train new staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Less than 1 year pharmacy technician experience in a complex healthcare environment.
• MN Pharmacy Technician registration (current or pending).
• National certification (PTCB or ExCPT) within 1.5 years.

Responsibilities

• Partner with care providers and pharmacists to ensure patients receive the right medication safely and promptly.
• Receive prescriptions/order from EMR, process, prepare drug therapy and dispense in compliance with regulations.
• Maintain IV hoods, clean room, and ante room per specs and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate ordering and delivery of medications, supplies, and equipment to patients and clinical areas.
• Participate in regulatory, QA and process improvement activities; support training of new staff.
