Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in housekeeping or cleaning in a healthcare environment preferred but not required.
• Shift time: 3pm-11:30pm; EVS positions require rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Establishes and maintains clean, sanitary, and safe environment in assigned work areas by following departmental policies and procedures (20%).
• Proper disposal of biohazards according to EPA and OSHA codes and regulations. Handle the disposal of environmental contaminants such as batteries, thermometers (mercury), and needles.
• Maintains equipment, clean carts, buckets, floor machines, other equipment, and supply closets to give the hospital a professional appearance.
• Must comply with established PPE requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, and other hazardous substances.
• Follows hospital/departmental policy on hand hygiene.
