Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Worker to maintain a clean, orderly, and attractive environment across patient areas, offices, clinics, and other assigned spaces. Under supervision, you will perform repetitive housekeeping tasks to meet quality standards and expectations.

The role oversees stocking cleaning supplies, waste removal, disinfection, linen handling, and setup for events while following infection control protocols and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleaning cart neatly and stocked; never leaves cleaning solution unattended.
• Removes waste including rubbish, cardboard, paper recycling, and hazardous waste.
• Disinfects patient rooms and makes beds after discharge.
• Transports linen hampers and replaces full bags.
• Operates heavy cleaning equipment as needed (vacuum, floor machines, buffers).
• Follow infection control practices and safety procedures.
