Job summary

Lowell General Hospital, a Tufts Medicine facility in Lowell, MA, is seeking an Environmental Services Worker. The role supports housekeeping, facilities and related services to ensure a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Position details include 40 hours per week, 3pm-11:30pm, with every other weekend and every other holiday required. The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to safety and infection control protocols, and reliable shift coverage.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read and understand procedures and directions in English.

Responsibilities

• Completes weekly projects as designated by the supervisor.
• Makes sure employees are properly equipped and supplied with necessary items.
• Follows infection control, chemical control, hazardous waste disposal and handling.
• Follows proper work safety practices and body mechanics.
• Performs shift check-in and rounds through facility.
• Operates heavy duty electrical equipment (wet vacuums, buffers, floor machines, etc.).
• Participates in inventory and record keeping for laundry services.
