Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Cooley Dickinson Hospital Environmental Services Aide Level I performs cleaning to high standards to support patient care. The role reports to the Supervisor, Environmental Services and is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit.

Evening shift, onsite at 30 Locust Street, Northampton, with weekend and holiday rotation. The position emphasizes infection control, attention to detail, and courteous service to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 years of environmental services/housekeeping experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions required.
• Experience in environmental services or housekeeping preferred.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and high-quality customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Clean ceilings, surfaces, furnishings and floors in patient care units and offices to high standards.
• Sanitize bathrooms, restock items daily and as needed.
• Dry mop and damp mop floors; vacuum assigned areas.
• Collect and transport trash per regulations.
• Clean facility entrances and hang draperies, blinds and shades.
• Change mattresses and move patient beds as requested.
• Prepare and set up meeting rooms as requested.
• Monitor and respond to the department pager promptly.
• Follow safety practices and infection control policies.
