Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an Evening Hospice RN in Massachusetts to deliver patient-centered care two evenings per week. You will assess patients, plan care, educate families, and coordinate with the care team to manage pain and symptoms.

The role requires an active MA RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year of direct nursing experience, with EPIC experience preferred. Evening schedule and on-site work in Danvers, MA are involved.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate’s Degree or BSN from an accredited school.
• Active Massachusetts RN license.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
• At least 1 year of direct care nursing experience; EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete and document initial patient and family assessments.
• Perform a complete physical assessment and review illness history.
• Educate patient and family about the dying process and expectations.
• Develop patient-specific care plans with goals based on nursing diagnosis and pain/symptom management.
• Instruct on medications, actions, side effects, dosages, routes, and frequencies.
• Document services using problem-oriented records and care plans.
• Instruct and supervise Hospice Aides; supervise at least every two weeks.
• Participate in bi-weekly hospice case conferences.
