Job summary

OSF HealthCare in Peoria, IL is seeking a Communication Specialist for the 2nd shift (12:00 pm – 8:30 pm), 32 hours per week. You will provide courteous telephone assistance to team members, patients, physicians and the public, and manage essential contact lists and physician schedules.

The role requires strong customer service, solid computer skills, and excellent communication. Healthcare phone system experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required; 1 year of customer service.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft software.
• 1 year clerical experience.
• Experience in telephone or switchboard operations.
• Experience with healthcare phone system operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone assistance to team members, patients, physicians and the public in a timely and professional manner.
• Keep physician call schedules, out-of-hospital personnel lists, administrative call lists and contact lists.
• Respond to emergent calls quickly and follow protocol to page.
