Job summary

Veolia in Wisconsin is seeking a hazardous-wacTS worker to perform routine waste handling tasks, including loading/unloading containers and operating equipment. The role emphasizes safety, decontamination, and proper documentation within a fast-paced facility.

The position requires 3–6 months of related experience, forklift proficiency, and adherence to hazardous waste handling guidelines. Training in HAZWOPER is preferred, with benefits and a robust safety program likely provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 3–6 months in the hazardous waste or chemical industry with forklift proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload various size containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers, etc.).
• Construct boxes and/or fiber containers and stacks, labels, and loads containers.
• Use tools such as impact wrenches, shovels, jackhammers, etc.
• Transport hazardous waste materials from storage facilities within the facility as directed.
• Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums and/or containers according to guidelines.
• Assist in completing paperwork for processing materials and transportation.
• Perform general housekeeping duties.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Inspect material handling equipment as directed.
• Assist in loading/unloading hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials at designated sites.
