Job summary

Fresco y Mas in New York seeks an Evening Manager to oversee daily grocery operations (Dairy & Frozen, Dry Grocery, General Merchandise). You will lead a team, ensure planed merchandising, and provide courteous, knowledgeable service to customers.

You will coach staff, schedule shifts, manage stock and pricing changes, and uphold food safety and regulatory standards. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in this hands-on leadership role.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age
• Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Proficient with computer applications used in effectively operating the department. Possession of Food Safety Certification or the ability to obtain same within 180 days of placement.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated to help build and retain customer confidence and loyalty.
• Ensure the department is merchandised per plan and maintains on-shelf product availability, freshness, quality and value.
• Train department associates on freshness, inventory levels, stocking and ordering and shelf conditioning.
• Offers customers assistance in finding or suggesting product.
• Promotes trust and respect among associates by collaborating, promoting teamwork, and communicating information.
• Establishes goals for merchandising, sales and profits and empowers the team to meet or exceed the goals.
• Develops scheduling to manage customer volume and control labor expenses while adhering to laws and guidelines.
• Ensures safety, sanitation and compliance with food safety regulations and recalls.
