Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock associate to transport freight across the dock area and assist with loading and unload­ing trailers. You will use forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move freight and secure loads while verifying documentation for accuracy.

Responsibilities include documenting activities, assisting customers with freight needs, and maintaining safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties are required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight up to ~100 pounds and operate dock equipment.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, and push/pull freight throughout shift.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck as needed.
• Verify documentation matches freight description and weight.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
