Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight up to ~100 pounds and open trailer doors requiring ~75 pounds of lift.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck as needed for freight handling.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, rope and other supplies.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports accurately.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies; perform other duties as required.
