Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. in Glenpool, OK is seeking a dock associate to move freight across dock areas and assist loading to trailers. The role includes forklift and pallet jack use, document verification, and cargo securing.

Starting pay is $21.16 per hour with an evening shift (1700-2100). You will verify paperwork, assist customers, and perform hostling duties as needed, in a fast-paced dock environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling, and/or forklift operations experience preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and dock components and operate equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment, including forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (e.g. type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
