Autumn View Health Care Facility is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep the building safe, clean, and functional. You will perform routine maintenance, repairs, preventative tasks, and groundskeeping to support high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months experience in maintenance or cleaning.
• Valid NYS Driver's License required.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep throughout the facility and grounds.
• Complete work orders and non-routine projects, including painting, drywall repairs, floor care, plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, ceiling tile replacement, and window repairs.
• Maintain exterior areas, parking lots, green spaces, and assist with snow removal and salting as needed.
• Collect and transport trash, soiled linens, and other materials throughout the facility.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment, including patient lifts, oxygen concentrators, suction machines, laundry equipment, wheelchairs, generators, and other facility systems.
• Conduct fire drills, fire extinguisher inspections, water temperature testing, and sharps container inspections.
• Report maintenance concerns, equipment malfunctions, and safety hazards promptly.
• Assist with facility security and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
