Williamsville Suburban Nursing Home in Erie County, NY is seeking a full-time Maintenance Assistant to ensure resident and staff safety by performing repairs to the buildings and furnishings, and maintaining grounds, including lawn care and snow/ice removal.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 yrs age, HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Related work experience required.
• Basic knowledge of tools and their use.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and painting skills.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions required.

Williamsville Suburban is currently seeking a full time Maintenance Assistant. This position is responsible for ensuring resident and staff safety by being responsible for repairs to the buildings and furnishings, as well as up-keep of the grounds including lawn care and snow/ice removal.

This is an 1199 SEIU Union position.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
• Plan and schedule repairs.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend and crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
